Data Transfer
Data transfer is one of the most critical pieces of the puzzle when it comes to switching software. It must be done in a timely fashion and requires expert attention to detail. Because 85% of our clients have switched to Smart Service™ from other programs, we have a wealth of experience.
We begin by locating your data, which may be in several locations. We then extract all your data and create a massive database with everything linked together, and determine how you are using each field we extract. In doing so, we're finally prepared to appropriately place your data into QuickBooks® and Smart Service™.
Once we have verified that your data is extracted and correctly mapped, we go to work street-standardizing that information. This process corrects street misspellings and provides accurate community and county addresses. We also remove any duplicate records from your data.
Next, your customer information is placed in QuickBooks® and we are master when it comes to QuickBooks®. As a matter of fact, Smart Service™ has undergone extensive QuickBooks® integration testing. Click here for more information about testing.
Once your customer information is inserted, we finish the process by inserting your business schedules, job instruction, special mapped fields and other pertinent information into Smart Service™.

NOTE: My Service Depot charges $65 per hour to provide data transfer, and a typical data transfer costs $500. There are times, however, when not all data can be electronically extracted from certain databases. And depending on the use of fields, data can have field-mapping issues during transfer. Therefore, some hand clean-up may be needed, which can be done by you or us.

We extract your data from your databases and link the data together.
Phase III - Data Mapping
We learn how you use each field so that we can map it to the correct fields in QuickBooks® and Smart Service™.
Phase IV - Clean-Up / De-Dupe
We street standardize and re-dupe your data thereby ensuring you have excellent data to start off with.
Phase V - Quality Assurance
We insert your clean data into QuickBooks® and Smart Service™ and verify its integrity.
